I was born and raised in Pampa, Texas, which is a small town in the Texas Panhandle. This is my 7th year teaching, and my 5th year in Huntsville ISD. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology, with a minor in Health (Eat ‘em up, Kats!). I recently graduated in August 2019 from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics. I taught health and PE for 2 years at Livingston High School and was the girls head soccer coach, as well as an assistant volleyball coach. I do miss coaching, but I enjoy being with my young family in the evenings, and that is why I stepped down from coaching. I have truly discovered that my passion for teaching is with younger aged students and I LOVE teaching math!

I married my wonderful husband, Stephen (who is also a Bearkat), in 2011. We have 2 daughters, Taylor and Carlee. I also have a stepson, Evan, and we have a family cat named Mr. Whiskers. In our spare time, we attend SHSU football games, and spend our Saturdays in the Fall tailgating and supporting our Bearkats! We are also involved with a BBQ cook-off team, active in our church and enjoy spending time with our families! I also love to do crafts, workout, drink coffee and play soccer!

My passion is teaching and working with children. I feel privileged to have your child in my class. I am excited about the year to come, as your child and I get to know each other and learn new things. I do have very high expectations of your child in my class for all of us to be successful in 4th grade. We are going to have a fantastic school year!
